Rubi Rose Benton was born on the 2nd of October 1997 in Lexington, Kentucky, where she was also raised, by Nardos Ghebrelul her mother who was an Eritrean dentist from the country of immigrants who was born in Ethiopia, and John Benton, her father who is a lawyer of Japanese, African American and European descent. [1] Her father was adopted. There is an older sister named Scarlette and her younger sister, Coral. [2] She was baptised as an Orthodox Christian as a child. (better source required) She spent one year in Geneva, Switzerland. When she was in her junior year in high school, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Brookwood High School, Snellville, Georgia was where she ran track. She also studied politics at Georgia State University. She grew up with Prince, Michael Jackson, Biggie, Marvin Gaye and Chaka Khan. Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj are her influences. Rose was the first to be credited as the main model of the Migos music video for "Bad and Boujee" the hip-hop group. In the year following she began appearing regularly on the Twitch stream with Jamaican born East Coast Hip Hop Commentator DJ Akademiks. Rose's music career began in September of 2018 when she released her remix of the track "On the Top" which was produced by Playboi. Through her hit single "Big Mouth" it gained her acclaim. in 2019. Rose appeared in American rapper Cardi B's music video for her single "WAP", which came out on August 7 and 7 in 2020. A&R Chris Turner signed Rose to LA Reid's record company Hitco Entertainment in 2019. Rubi is also well-known for her high-profile romantic relationships. She has been in relationships with people like Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Ian Connor, 21 Savage, Soulja Boy, Lil Yachty, Takeoff, Lil Tjay and DDG. She is currently single.
